Do I need to be a confident swimmer to join the class?
No, you don’t need to be a strong swimmer. The class takes place in shallow water where most participants can stand comfortably. However, basic water confidence is recommended, and children aged 8–10 must be able to swim 10 metres.
What should I bring to the class?
Please bring appropriate swimwear, a towel, a water bottle, and any personal floatation aids if you normally use them. Pool noodles and resistance equipment will be provided by the instructor where required.
Do I need to book in advance?
Yes, we recommend booking in advance through the Oldham Active website or app to secure your place, or you can book in at reception. Aqua 4 Health is a popular class and spaces may be limited.
How long is the class and what does it involve?
Aqua 4 Health is a 45-minute session held in the swimming pool. The class includes a gentle warm-up, low-impact aerobic exercises, balance and strength training, and a relaxing cool-down. All movements are performed in water, reducing strain on joints while helping to improve overall fitness, mobility, and confidence
