Check your eligibility for Bee Active Concessions

The Bee Active Scheme is inclusive and designed to support various groups in the Oldham community. To qualify for the Bee Active Concessions membership, you need to meet at least one of the conditions.

  • People aged 65 or over
  • Armed Forces Veterans
  • Registered disabled individuals
  • People under 19 years of age
  • Full-time students
  • Registered carers

Or be registered as or in the receipt of the following:

  • Individuals with a current NHS Exemption Certificate
  • Individuals receiving Universal Credit
  • Individuals receiving Personal Independence Payments (PIP)
  • Individuals receiving Incapacity Benefit
  • Individuals receiving Housing Benefit
  • Individuals receiving Employment Support Allowance (ESA)
  • Individuals receiving Job Seeker’s Allowance (JSA)
  • People receiving Council Tax Benefit (Note: Single occupancy reductions do not apply)
  • Holders of a valid Asylum Registration Card
  • Individuals referred by a GP for a 12-week pay-and-play programme

How to prove your eligibility

When visiting your nearest centre please provide the required documents listed below to verify your eligibility.

Band 1 (Does not expire)

Categories in band 1 do not require periodic checks.

  • Over 65 years of age: Driving licence or passport
  • Armed Forces Veteran: Proof of service (e.g. Veteran’s ID card)
  • Registered Disabled: Disability documentation (e.g. Blue Badge or DLA/PIP letter)

Band 2 (Requires annual verification)

Categories in band 2 require annual verification to maintain your eligibility.

  • Under 19 years of age: Passport or birth certificate
  • In full-time education: Student ID card with photo or enrolment letter
  • Holds a current Asylum Registration Card: Asylum registration card
  • GP Referral (12-week pay-and-play): Referral letter from the Oldham Active GP Referral Team
  • Registered Carer: Carer’s ID card or official documentation
  • In receipt of the following:
    • Current NHS Exemption Certificate: NHS certificate
    • Universal Credit: Most recent award notice
    • Personal Independence Payments (PIP): Most recent PIP award letter
    • Incapacity Benefit: Recent benefit letter
    • Housing Benefit: Most recent benefit letter
  • Receiving any of the following:
    • Employment Support Allowance (ESA): Recent ESA letter
    • Job Seeker’s Allowance (JSA): Recent JSA letter
    • Council Tax Benefit: Most recent council tax benefit letter (note: single occupancy reductions do not apply)
